I’m setting myself up with the County of Los Angeles as an independent contractor so I can (legally) serve clients that want an ISO 9000 auditor to tell them that they’re doing everything wrong.
I start next Friday, the 11th, and will be hitting the books for a solid ten hours. I’ve read through a good portion of the material already, and it makes quite a bit of sense. I don’t see this as being a terribly far stretch; after all, I’ve gone through auditing for the ranch, I’ve taken classes in similar TQM methodology, and I’ve been in project management before.
Hopefully, it’ll be more lucrative than it is enjoyable. I’m not too concerned that I’ll lose my job with all the firings that are going on, and even if I do I’ll get a hefty severance package and unemployment, but still. I’m not going to pour milk into cups for the rest of my life.
The horse is still out to pasture. It is killing me a little.
